I'm working in a new city 3-4 days out of the week I've realized I need a car while I'm there. I have $6000 cash to spend and I'm not taking out any loans. I want something comfortable for the unavoidable traffic from the airport yet reliable enough to last 6-8 months. No older than 10 years. I'm staying at my friends condo and his neighbor has a 07 Dodge charger for $5500, I was thinking about just getting that but what do you guys think?

What motor is in the Charger? Lots of stuff under $6k. Are you looking for a sedan specifically?

I was going to say Boxster, but a quick search didn't turn up anything under 10K.

I honestly dont care what kind of car it is as long as it works and isnt too old. Leather would be nice. He said the charger has a 3.5 V6

Fellow Seattle-ite here. I hate to say it but go find a nice cheap Subie. Plenty out there with all the hg already done. If that's not your style I recommend any Toyota 4runner, Sr5 or Taco.

The 3.5 is not too bad. I recommend this http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/494620…

I second the Tacoma. I used to own a 98 v6 5spd taco and it never gave up on me. As a fellow northwesterner I'll tell you; it hoons the street, gravel roads, trails and wherever else you have the balls to take it. Plus with a 5in lift, flowmaster 40 series and 33in tires it will break necks.

The seller is illiterate as hell, but perhaps this Town Car might be worth a look.

It's RWD with an excellent six (I love the Pentastar) but with a Charger from this era it's all downhill from there. Don't forget this car was made in the leadup to Chrysler's bankruptcy. You could do worse, but I think you could do better with that budget.
How about the 1st gen Acura TSX? Little brother to the TL, based on the JDM/Euro Honda Accord. You can find one in decent shape in that range, with a manual too.
Reliable, and good resale value if you need/want to sell it in 6-8 months.
